I spent most of my working life in the field of education. I've always felt a great satisfaction in helping others achieve their goals. I earned my teaching credential and began my career as an educator. I have always had a strong creative side that has displayed itself through photography and other creative mediums. I started work as an outdoor educator on Catalina Island which gave me a great opportunity to teach and explore my interest in underwater photography. A short time later, I moved into a position in which I taught underwater photography and SCUBA full time. I eventually moved to Ocean Beach, San Diego and began a full time photography and graphic design career.

I wanted to expand on what I had learned in the areas of graphic and web design and enrolled in the Digital Arts Center program at the University of California at San Diego. Soon after, I created Lanternfish Design.
